The School of Dancing Wheels offers fun and intensive summer workshops in dance and theatre geared for children and adults of all abilities and skill levels. Partial tuition scholarships are available based upon need. See “Events” for details about this year’s summer workshops.

Adult Summer Dance Workshop

The Adult Summer Dance Workshop is a week-long intensive dance program for dancers and dance enthusiasts 16 years and older. This intensive workshop includes instruction by talented faculty in composition, improvisation, and repertory and dance technique. Learn the Dancing Wheels technique based on traditional modern dance which has been translated and adapted for dancers with and without disabilities. The workshop may also serve as an opportunity to audition potential trainees and apprentices for The Dancing Wheels Company. A performance opportunity for family and friends concludes the week.

Youth Summer Dance Workshop

The Youth Summer Dance Workshop is geared for children with and without disabilities 7-15 years old. This fun, week-long workshop includes instruction in modern, jazz, hip-hop. Students learn new repertory and how to choreograph dances, and they have a special opportunity to perform for family and friends at the conclusion of the workshop.

Theatre Arts Camp

Theatre Arts Camp is for student dancers, actors, or those who just want to have fun! This two-week camp, for children ages 7-14 years old of all abilities, employs a historic or cultural theme to educate students on the multi-arts. Children receive comprehensive instruction in theatre, construct visual art, learn dances and their meanings, and take a field trip to a museum. The camp culminates with a performance for family and friends uniting all art forms.
